BELONG: Social Media Campaign Launches for the European Project Promoting Refugee Integration

February 13, 2026

The FIGC social media channels feature a new video showcasing the core values of the project led by the Federation in partnership with UNIMORE and three NGOs.

Be inclusive. Be a team. Be the change. One game. One world. We all belong. Inclusion, teamwork, and change: we all belong to the same family. These are the key concepts conveyed by the promotional video for the European project ‘BELONG’. Featuring Silvio Baldini, head coach of the Under-21 National Team, as the project’s ambassador, the social media campaign highlights the foundational values of this initiative. The FIGC leads the project in partnership with UNIMORE (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) and three NGOs: Solidarietà Caritas Onlus Florence, Consorzio Gruppo CEIS Modena, and Consorzio Gruppo CEIS Civitavecchia.

“BELONG” stands for “footBall Employed to faciLitate the integratiOn of adolesceNt refuGees”. The project utilizes football as a powerful tool to facilitate the integration of refugee adolescents and foster a deep sense of inclusion.

Drawing on the extensive experience of the FIGC Youth and School Sector, ‘BELONG’ expands the scope of the successful ReTe! Project. With the support of specialized coaches and psychologists, it provides training tools and develops sports, physical, and educational activities to encourage local community engagement. Through football tournaments and meetings in schools, the project will further boost inclusion, providing refugee adolescents the opportunity to share their experiences with their peers and build lasting social bonds.
