BELONG Project: kick-off meeting with partners concludes in Coverciano

At the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano, the kick-off of the project led by the Italian Football Federation in collaboration with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), the Caritas Solidarity Foundation of Florence, CEIS of Modena and the Il Ponte Solidarity Centre of Civitavecchia.

The kick-off meeting of BELONG, the project promoting the social integration of refugees through football, marked the start of work aimed at creating a flexible and replicable methodology to be implemented throughout the European Union.
Ariadni Chorti, EACEA (European Education and Culture Executive Agency) project officer for BELONG, also joined the opening session. The structure of the project was then outlined, which includes the management, development and communication of activities, emphasising the importance of organisations as an essential element in defining the methodology, with particular attention to the involvement of sports clubs and NGOs for effective dissemination. A detailed programme was also presented, aimed at promoting the social inclusion of refugees and community involvement through the FIGC Youth and School Sector. The initiative includes activities that promote cultural exchange and personal development, with the aim of fostering a sense of belonging among participants. The project aims to create effective and easily understandable activities for everyone, taking into account potential linguistic and psychological barriers.
